Learning Activity for the Week:
Students
will be encouraged to join the teacher in the art center. The teacher will prompt the students to draw
an answer to the question, "How would you take care of your friend(s)? What
things would you do to help your friend(s) feel better? How could you take care
of the things in the classroom?
Students
that need extra support: Will be given prompting answers and asked children
recognize how to care about others in the classroom? For example, "The
teacher will invite children to explore the toys people (nurse, doctor,
teacher, children) and the hospital and school building." This activity
will help children to recognize who take care of people when they are sick.
Also, who take care of children when they are at school. The teacher will ask
children what things they need to do to care of things as well as friend(s)?
The teacher will write whatever they express.
Students

Baby, Please by Spike Lee (author), Tonya Lewis Lee(author), and Kadir Nelson
(illustrator): A behind-the-scenes look at the adventures of the baby.
How do you
think the mama felt when the baby colored on the walls? Why?
The mama asked
the baby to stop splashing the water. Why do you think she wanted the baby to
stop?
Why is it
important to listen to your grown-ups (such as your teacher or people your
family)?
The baby in
this book isn't very helpful. it seemed like the mama got a little frustrated
with the baby. Even though the mama got frustrated, what did she do at the end
of the book? Why?
