Reminders:
· There are still parents that do not return all paperwork that was handed out during the parent orientation. Please send them back.
· Please make sure your child has two extra changes of clothes, including underwear, tops, bottoms and socks.
· Please always make sure that your child walks into the school building with a mask
· Drop off in the morning is between 7:45 and 8:00 am. Dismissal is at 2:45 pm.

Focused Learning Activity for the Week:
Students will be encouraged to join the teacher in the math center. The teacher will prompt the students to draw an answer to the question, "What numbers can you count with your teacher?"
Standard Addressed:
P-SE 6. Child expresses a broad range of emotions and recognizes these emotions in self and others.
Foundational Text for the Week:
Weekly Foundational Text: Please, Baby, Please by Spike Lee (author), Tonya Lewis Lee (author), and Kadir Nelson (illustrator): A behind-the-scenes look at the adventures of the baby.
- How do you think the mama felt when the baby colored on the walls? Why?
- The mama asked the baby to stop splashing the water. Why do you think she wanted the baby to stop?
- Why is it important to listen to your grown-ups (such as your teachers or people your family)?
- The baby in this book isn't very helpful. It seemed liked the mama got a little frustrated with the baby. Even though the mama got frustrated, what did she do at the end of the book? Why?
Learning Centers Available for the Theme:
Blocks- Children are encouraged to explore the block center. They will be shown a few unit blocks, shown where they can be found in the classroom, and shown how to match them to their outline in order to clean up.
Dramatic Play- Children are invited to explore the dramatic play area and use the props and clothing provided. Dramatic Play will be set up as a kitchen. Teacher will introduce basic materials, how to use them, and how to put them away.
Art- Children are invited to explore the art area. They will be shown a paint container, brush, and paper. Teacher will model how to dip brush in paint and paint a few brushstrokes on paper. Students will be shown where materials can be found in the classroom and what they should do when they finish painting.
Science- Children will be shown a few items from a collection of natural objects. Teacher will model how students can begin to explore some of the materials. They will be shown where these materials can be found in the classroom and how to put them away when finished.
Math- Children will be shown a couple of puzzles. Teacher will model how to take apart and how to put a few pieces together. Students will be shown where puzzles can be found and how to put them away.
Library- Students can explore books from the classroom library.
Writing- Students are invited to explore the materials provided in the writing center. They are encouraged to explore their name cards.
Sensory- Students will be shown a small amount of sand and a few toys. They will be shown where these materials can be found in the classroom. Students will be prompted to wash their hands before and after using the sand table.
